letter-spacing: 2px; font-weight: 400;\">House ST39<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-03daa885\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-03daa885\"><p><\/p><p>House ST39 is located in a central and historical street of Pozzallo, a seaside town south of Sicily. The character of the street with continuous fronts, once characterized by low buildings with decorated facades, was heavily compromised in the 70s by extensive demolitions and construction of multi-storey buildings. House ST39 has basically and fortunately maintained its character as a historical building from the early 1900s, with two large cross vaulted rooms overlooking the street and with the perimeter walls of stones.<\/p>\n<p>The project has regenerated this small reality, transforming house ST39 into an introverted residence, which isolates itself from the chaotic nature of the architectural context and turns inside towards a new quite courtyard. This one has been created through the subtraction of several rough superfetations and the realization of an L-shaped extension, which makes the house functional for the needs of the family. The 130 sqm extension, which hosts the more private part of the residence, is distributed on three levels whose area gradually decreases upwards. In this way, each floor is enriched with a terrace and the courtyard is bright and at the same time pleasantly shaded, an open space whose intimacy and airiness offer a new life dimension to the inhabitants. letter-spacing: 2px; font-weight: 400;\">House ST39<\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-9c1ad9bc\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-9c1ad9bc\"><p><\/p><p>House ST39 is located in a central and historical street of Pozzallo, a seaside town south of Sicily. The character of the street with continuous fronts, once characterized by low buildings with decorated facades, was heavily compromised in the 70s by extensive demolitions and construction of multi-storey buildings. House ST39 has basically and fortunately maintained its character as a historical building from the early 1900s, with two large cross vaulted rooms overlooking the street and with the perimeter walls of stones.<\/p>\n<p>The project has regenerated this small reality, transforming house ST39 into an introverted residence, which isolates itself from the chaotic nature of the architectural context and turns inside towards a new quite courtyard. This one has been created through the subtraction of several rough superfetations and the realization of an L-shaped extension, which makes the house functional for the needs of the family. The 130 sqm extension, which hosts the more private part of the residence, is distributed on three levels whose area gradually decreases upwards. In this way, each floor is enriched with a terrace and the courtyard is bright and at the same time pleasantly shaded, an open space whose intimacy and airiness offer a new life dimension to the inhabitants.
