Flat SL1
The old 1960s apartment, with entrance into the corridor and distant living room, has been redesigned in the distribution and character of the rooms. The new direct entry into the living area and the clear distinction between the living and the sleeping area highlight the more contemporary layout of the apartment, where the distribution spaces are optimized.
The living room, the corridor and the bathroom are defined by the use of colour on the ceiling: the first is characterized by yellow, while the others by colours in the range of blue. As an exception, the colour also spreads into the back wall of the corridor to re-proportion this space.
In the living area, the old kitchenette-room maintains its function: the kitchen is conceived as a forest green volume that becomes an element of connection between the small cooking corner and the living.
A large white wardrobe develops along one side of the living room and then continues throughout the corridor, thus becoming the central axis of the apartment; adapting to the various irregularities and exceptions of the walls, it becomes a unique backdrop that performs multiple functions: seat, passage, bookcase, containment, which intercepts the coloured surfaces.
The use of colour as solid backgrounds personalizes this apartment for the young couple who lives there.
